This DMS Body Lotion by Dermaviduals is a luxurious body lotion that supplies the skin with DMS®. This is a complex of skin identical ingredients that closely approximates the Derma Membrane Structure of the skin. With ingredients such as Vitamin E, olive oil, shea butter, capuacu butter and ceremide 3 it provides long lasting hydration and has a strong smoothing effect on the skin without leaving any greasy residue.
Theobroma Grandiflorum Seed Butter is taken from the pulp of the fruit of the Cupuacu Tree. This grows in the Amazonian Rain Forest in Northern Brazil where it has been used for centuries and is considered to be a "super moisturiser". It has hydrophylic (water loving) properties so can carry water in to the skin, hydrating and plumping the tissues and making it more soft, supple and pliable. The butter is high in phytosterols, plant sterols which combat free radicals. Beta-sitosterol is used to treat dermatitis and stimulate the healing process.
With use over time it will increase the lipid content of the skin and repair dry and dehydrated skin, leaving the skin better able to retain moisture. The absence of emulsifiers means that it sinks in to the skin very readily so is quick and easy to apply.
It used to be thought that the outer most layer of the skin, the Stratum Corneum, was just a layer of dead skin cells. It is now understood that it is biologically active and that keeping this layer well moisturised and healthy and free from microscopic fissures actually lowers signs of inflammation in the body. Applying a good quality body moisturiser can therefore, actually impact the overall health of your body as inflammation is a feature of all illness and disease.
